Hotel Munsterhof

Three pictures of things about the Hotel Munsterhof: 1) my room, which is the most "charming" of the hotels I have stayed at, (O my goodness, church bells are ringing throughout this small, charming, Medieval town now! Right now! It is hard to describe the experience!), 2) the ceiling of my hotel room with its old painted designs (and crack!), 3) the old fashioned key to my room.

Kurt,my earlier comment didn't register---don't know what I did wrong, so I deleted it and will try again.
I'm enjoying the pictures and your commentary. How did this blog idea come about?
Hear any yodelling yet?

Mom,

No yodelling. I probably would have heard it in Appenzell, if anywhere, but you can hear it in their voices. (I did purchase a small cowbell, however.) As for the idea for the blog, I think I have just read other people's blogs and thought that it would be a good way to keep in touch with family and friends - kind of a modern travelog.

Absolutely love it! The hotel looks like a delightful place. And the key!!!

I know exactly what you mean about the unutterable feeling you get hearing the church bells ringing in these ancient history-filled, faith-built places. I remember the first Sunday I woke-up in Rome. Every bell in the city was pealing, the birds were singing, the sun was shining, and the beauty and symbolism of the place just made you cry for joy. It's like nothing else.
